Why should you be interested in better working links with higher education?
There are several reasons why employers might want a closer relationship with higher education:
To get business problems solved:
- through collaboration with HE (usually referred to as knowledge transfer)
- through enabling your employees to solve business problems with HE support
To get better employee training and development (bespoke training and support)
To get external recognition for your employees (for example professional body)
Bottom line business benefits: This BECTA-produced study identified a range of evidence from employers (private and public) who reported business benefits from their use of learning technologies. The focus was on evidence that supports business-related outcomes (such as sales increase, cost savings, staff retention etc) rather than learning inputs (such as volume, completion rates or learner satisfaction).
